Carpal Tunnel Syndrome


This condition occur due to the compression of the median nerve in the wrist. The condition occur due to narrowing of the space through which the median nerve passes. Mainly occur due to swelling, inflammation, fracture, arthritis, pregnancy, fluid retention

The condition is common in females since they have smaller carpel tunnel.

Major symptoms

  • Ache in wrist and forearm
  • Radiating pain to fingers except little finger
  • Pain increases during night
  • Tingling and burning sensation of hands and fingers
  • Weakness of fingers

 

Ayurveda

According to ayurvedic principles this condition occur due to doshic vitiation,it can be due to external or internal factors. depending upon the causes the doshas involved will differ, in 70% of cases the predominant dosha involved is pitta, and in other conditions kapha dosha is involved, in both conditions the results will be vata kopa and painful movements, depending upon the doshic involvement the treatment modalities vary. In all cases rest is necessary with bandaging.
